Provo is small, walkable, and fed mostly by Utah Valley University and BYU. That means lots of decent lunch spots, a handful of genuinely good dinner ones, and evening options that skew early. Here’s a starter guide for out-of-towners.
Lunch (while the conference is running)
Catered lunch can be added to your registration at checkout. See the Venue page for the specifics.
If you’d rather forage, downtown Provo has plenty of options within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the UVCC. A curated list with specific recommendations will live here; in the meantime, walk Center St and University Ave and you won’t go hungry.
Dinner
Downtown Provo has the usual mix: sit-down restaurants, a couple of nicer date-night spots, some excellent hole-in-the-wall places. This page will build out a proper list as the event approaches.
TBD. Committee-vetted food recs post here before the conference.
Coffee
Utah isn’t famously a coffee town, but downtown Provo actually has a few solid shops. Quick hit list coming before the event.
Evening activities
- Family Night is worth attending; it’s one of the most memorable evenings of SAINTCON week. Details on the schedule when it drops.
- Community dinners and after-parties get organized in Discord throughout the week.
- Provo Rec Center, movie theaters, and a few pool halls / bowling alleys are all within driving distance; nothing specifically tied to the conference, but worth knowing about if you’re booked with people and need a plan.
Out-of-town attendees
If you’ve got a rental car and an evening free, Utah has:
- Bridal Veil Falls (~15 minutes from UVCC) for a quick outdoor break.
- Provo Canyon and Sundance area drives for scenery.
- Salt Lake City (~45 minutes north) for bigger-city dining and nightlife.
- Park City (~1 hour 15 minutes) if you want to make a detour into mountain-town territory.
Heads up
- Utah’s alcohol laws are their own thing. Not all restaurants serve alcohol, some require you to order food with a drink, and store hours and rules vary. Worth a quick look before you plan.
- Sundays run on a smaller schedule in Utah. Plan ahead if you’re arriving or departing on a Sunday.
