Women in Cybersecurity

Brought to you by: WakingHour and PhishingSec

Geared towards a safe space for women where they can come together, find community with each other and grow their careers.

Community Details and Information

Q: Are the events in this community only for women?

A: Most of the events will be for everyone of all genders, there will be some that are women-only. We will provide information on our community webpage, on our community fliers and on our community signage so it’s easy to see which events are geared to which groups.

Q. What is an OSINT exercise?

A. An OSINT exercise (Open Source Intelligence) is a cybersecurity activity where participants gather and analyze publicly available information—like social media, websites, or public records—to uncover insights or simulate threat scenarios. It’s often used to train teams on how attackers might exploit open data or to assess an organization’s exposure online.

Q. How will the OSINT exercise work?

A. Come to our booth and find out the details but what we can tell you now is that everyone who finishes the exercise will be entered to win 1 of 6 prizes.  Winners will be announced and prizes will be given out on Thursday, 10/23 at 4:30 pm. MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.

Q. What are the prizes for the OSINT exercise?

A. Prizes are:

  • Flipper Zero
  • Logitech G Pro X SE Wired Gaming Headset
  • JBL Go 4 – Ultra-Portable, Waterproof and Dustproof Bluetooth Speaker
  • 3 Perplexus 3D puzzle balls – we’ll give these to 3 different people

Q: Are you affiliated with any groups having to do with Women in Cybersecurity outside of SAINTCON?

A: No, but we know of a few groups we can point you towards if you’re looking for additional communities and events after SAINTCON.

We will be having community events throughout the conference.

See the booth schedule at the top of this page for more details.

What participants will learn.

Participants will learn about

1) How to network effectively and find mentors in their field

2) Different areas of cybersecurity to help broaden attendees’ horizons on what’s possible for their careers

3) Constructive advice to address issues and concerns relating to being a woman in the field of cybersecurity

Any tools participants will get to use.

Tools in this community will all be interpersonal and career building skills

What do participants need to bring to be successful?

Business cards

How it relates to cyber security.

We are supporting the career growth of those either already in the field of cybersecurity or those just starting out

Anything else you want to say, or that attendees may want to know.

Our goal is to help people thrive in their careers and as human beings. The people who are running our community are all very open to meeting new people and to helping them have the best experience possible. We will provide as many resources and connections as we can. We hope to have periodic speed networking events after SAINTCON is over as well, both in-person and virtually but we are not affiliated with any local or national Women in Cybersecurity groups. If you’d like to know more, if you’d like to participate in future speed networking events, or if you’d like to help with our SAINTCON community now and in the future, please let us know, we’d love to discuss those possibilities with you!
